Due to a nodule on his left vocal cord, Papa Roach lead singer Jacoby Shaddix will undergo corrective throat surgery, forcing the band to cancel their remaining shows on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, including their scheduled performance at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, September 1.
UPDATED 2pm, 8/24/12: A press release quotes Shaddix – “It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately. I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it,” Shaddix said. “The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100% every night. We know they’ll understand, and we’ll be back better than ever.”
The Uproar Tour and the SPAC fest will go on as planned without Papa Roach. Headline bands include Shinedown, Godsmack and Staind, along with breaking band Adelitas Way, and the performance schedule will be adjusted to allow longer sets for the main stage bands.
In addition, the Ernie Ball Stage and Jägermeister Stage in the festival area will include performances from multi-platinum headliner P.O.D., as well as up-and-coming artists Deuce, Fozzy, Redlight King, Mindset Evolution (winner of the 2011 UPROAR Battle of the Bands), In This Moment and Candlelight Red.
The SPAC gates are scheduled to open at 1:30pm on Saturday, September 1, and the music is slated to begin at 1:50pm. Tix are $39, $49, $59 & $85; lawn $20.
