Last month, sponsoring radio station WEQX-FM announced the majority of the line-up of bands for the third annual PearlPalooza festival in downtown Albany, including Matt & Kim, the Royal Concept, Wild Adriatic, Eastbound Jesus, Robert DeLong and others.
But they also promised that two more headliners would be announced at a later date.
Well, that date is now, and the announcement was worth the wait.
Saratoga Springs-based electro-popsters Phantogram – featuring Josh Carter (vocals, guitar, samples) and Sarah Barthel (vocals, keys, samples) – will be joining the line-up of bands on the main stage at the free, outdoor PearlPalooza festival, which is slated to take place from 12noon-9pm on Saturday, September 22, along North Pearl Street in Albany.
Meanwhile, recently reunited jam-band faves Conehead Buddha have been added to the line-up of bands that will grace the festival’s second stage. The band went into a dormant state in 2002, but they have emerged from their decade-long hiatus with renewed vigor earlier this year with the release of their new album, “Present Perfect,” last month.
Admission to the PearlPalooza street festival is free and open to all ages.
