MUSIC: The Tierney Sutton Band @ the Otesaga Resort Hotel, Cooperstown. The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival brings the sublime, California-based jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton and her longtime band to town in support of their latest album, “American Road.” 7:30pm. $25; students $15.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Tribute to Pat Tiernan @ Smokin’ Joe’s Barbecue, East Greenbush. An all-star Nippertown line-up pays tribute to the music and life of the late Pat Tiernan, including Erin Harkes, School Bus Yellow, Joe Roy Jackson Band, Kevin & Brian Tiernan & Friends, Ten Year Vamp, Matt Finnigan, Herb Carter and more. 12noon-6pm. $10 with all proceeds going to the Pat Tiernan Memorial Scholarship Fund at Columbia High School.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: moe.down @ Snow Ridge Ski Resort, Turin. After two years in Mohawk, moe.down returns to Turin. It’s Day Three of the three-day fest. Today’s bands include Umphrey’s McGee, Marco Benevento, the North Mississippi Allstars Duo, Nippertown’s own Timbre Coup and, of course, moe. Music starts at 12noon.

MUSIC: The McKrells @ the Music Haven Stage @ Schenectady’s Central Park. Bandleader Kevin McKrell teams up with Kate McKrell, Sara Milonovich, Brian Melick, Chris Leske and Greg Anderson. With Jane Rothfield & Allan Carr of Red Hen. 7pm. FREE. UPDATE: Celtic band McPeake, who were originally scheduled to headline, have been forced to cancel their appearance due to immigration problems.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Hudson Music Festival @ various locations, Hudson. It’s Day Three of the three-day fest that takes place all throughout the city of Hudson. Today’s performers include Jamie Kent & the Options, Sly Fox & the Hustlers, Positive Mental Trip, Chris Merenda & the Wheel, Ray Murray & the Bomb Squad, the Erin Harkes Band, Pony in the Pancake, more. 12noon. Mostly FREE.

MUSIC: Jack DeJohnette 70th Birthday Tribute @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Jazzstock presents Grammy Award-winner Terri Lyne Carrington and her band (pianist Leo Genovese, guitarist Nir Felder, saxophonist Tineke Postma) in celebration of the birthday of the legendary drummer, bandleader and composer DeJohnette. With special guests Sheila Jordan, Greg Osby, Don Byron, Tim Ries, Matt Garrison, Joe Lovano, Judi Silvano, Jerome Harris, Garry Kvistad, Harvey Sorgen, Peter O’Brien, Tani Tabbal, Teri Roiger, John Menegon, Mike DeMicco, Will Calhoun and others. Dinner at 6pm; concert at 7:30pm. Concert only $30; dinner & concert $55. UPDATE: Dinner tix are now sold out.

MUSIC: Armen Donalian & Marc Mommaas with Joe Locke @ the Hudson Opera House, Hudson. Jazz pianist Donalian and saxman Mommaas are joined by the vibrant vibraphonist Locke in a free concert sponsored by Hudson Jazzworks. 3pm. FREE.

FILM: “Inside the Perfect Circle: The Odyssey of Joel Thome” @ Upstate Films, Woodstock. The documentary offers an up-close and personal look at the musical career and philosophy of Thome, who collaborated extensively with Frank Zappa arranging the rock icon’s music for symphony orchestra and rock band. Thom was honored with a Grammy Award for his work with Zappa and guitarist Steve Vai, and was also nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Followed by a Q&A with Thome. 8:30pm. $10.

MUSIC: David Kim @ SPAC’s Spa Little Theater, Saratoga Springs. The violin virtuoso plays Rossini, Brahms and Schumann as part of the Saratoga Chamber Music Festival. 2:15pm. $49 & $45.

FILM: “The Virgin Spring” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. The Classic Film Series continues with Ingmar Bergman’s Academy Award-winning 1960 tale of faith, revenge and savagery in medieval Sweden, starring Max von Sydow. 2pm. $7; students $5.

FILM: “Wild Strawberries” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. From 1957, Ingmar Bergman’s richest, most humane movie, starring Victor Sjöström. 4pm. $7; students $5.

MUSIC: Aged in the Hills @ Town Hall Gazebo, North Greenbush. 6pm. FREE.

CIRCUS: Zoppe Italian Circus @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s a world of acrobatics, equestrian showmanship, jugglers, canine capers, clowns and an abundance of audience participation under the big top. No seat is more than 25 feet from the action. 1 & 4pm. $25 & $35; kids 17 and under $15 & $25. Through Sunday.

FILM: “China Heavyweight” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Award-winning filmmaker Yung Chang (“Up the Yangtze”) returns to China for another riveting documentary on that country’s ever-changing economic landscape — this time through the lens of sports. 6pm. $7; students $5.

MUSIC/GALA: Paul Green & His Neshoma Klezmer Ensemble @ Hancock Shaker Village, Hancock. A Shaker-Jewish fusion concert to benefit Hancock Shaker Village and Congregation Knesset Israel. Gala begins at 5:30pm; concert at 8pm. $150-$1000 for the gala; $36 for concert-only.

FESTIVAL: Rock, Rattle & Drum American Indian Pow Wow @ Wirtes Farm, Lanesboro. Authentic American Indian dancing, drumming, music, arts, crafts and demonstrations. 10am-6pm. $8; seniors and youths (ages 11-17) $6; children 10 and under FREE.
