FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Hudson Music Festival @ various locations, Hudson. It’s Day Two of the three-day fest that takes place all throughout the city of Hudson. MUSIC: Chris Smither @ The Linda, Albany. The veteran singer-songwriter-bluesman hit several local stages recently backed up by a band, but he’s back to his more familiar solo status tonight in support of his excellent new album, “Hundred Dollar Valentine.” 8pm. $25.
FESTIVAL/MUSIC: moe.down @ Snow Ridge Ski Resort, Turin. After two years in Mohawk, moe.down returns to Turin. It’s Day Two of the three-day fest. Today’s bands include Galactic, JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, the Wood Brothers, SOJA, Leroy Justice, Aqueous and, of course, moe. Music starts at 12noon.
FILM/MUSIC: The Philadelphia Orchestra @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. Full-length screening of the classic film, “The Wizard of Oz,” with soundtrack performed live by the orchestra conducted by Constantine Kitsopoulos. 8pm.

MUSIC: The Pat Metheny Unity Band @ Belleayre Music Festival at Belleayre Mountain, Highmount. The 19-time Grammy Award-winning jazz guitarist introduces his newest band, featuring Chris Potter on sax and bass clarinet, longtime collaborator Antonio Sanchez on drums and the up-and-coming Ben Williams on bass. 8pm. $25, $36, $46, $56, $66 & $99.

MUSIC: The Lucky Jukebox Brigade @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Just back from a tour that took ‘em to such foreign lands as Florida, Texas and Missouri, LJBB plays a “welcome home” show with the Killbilles and Grownups. 8pm.
THEATER: “Frame Upon Frame, Chapter One: God’s Woods” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. A new theater-music-media performance constructed by Claudia Bruce (singer, performer), Gerald von Stoddard (musician, songwriter) and John Musall (musician, singer) with text and media by Linda Mussmann, including 8mm movies, video clips, overhead projections and live-video feed manipulated on stage. 7:45pm. $10.
CIRCUS: Zoppe Italian Circus @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s a world of acrobatics, equestrian showmanship, jugglers, canine capers, clowns and an abundance of audience participation under the big top. No seat is more than 25 feet from the action. 1, 4 & 7pm. $25 & $35; kids 17 and under $15 & $25. Through Sunday.
FILM/MUSIC: “Inside the Perfect Circle: The Odyssey of Joel Thome” @ the Rosendale Theatre, Rosendale. The documentary offers an up-close and personal look at the musical career and philosophy of Thome, who collaborated extensively with Frank Zappa arranging the rock icon’s music for symphony orchestra and rock band. Thom was honored with a Grammy Award for his work with Zappa and guitarist Steve Vai, and was also nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Followed by a Q&A with Thome. 7pm. $10. There will also be a post-screening reception with a musical performance by Thome for an additional $10.
FESTIVAL: Rock, Rattle & Drum American Indian Pow Wow @ Wirtes Farm, Lanesboro. Authentic American Indian dancing, drumming, music, arts, crafts and demonstrations. 10am-7pm. $8; seniors and youths (ages 11-17) $6; children 10 and under FREE. Also Sunday.
THEATER: “Homestead Crossing” @ the Berkshire Theatre Group’s Unicorn Theatre, Stockbridge. It’s opening night for the world premiere of William Donnelly’s play, which tells the story of two couples who find familiarity in an unfamiliar way. Directed by Kyle Fabel. 8pm. $45. FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Behemoth Music Festival @ Hudson River Coffee House, Albany. Captain Kane & Disposable Rocket Band headline the bash, along with Birthdays, Sime Gezus and Ben KN. 8pm. $6. NOTE: Previously announced bands Barons in the Attic and Sun Burdens have dropped off the bill and will not be performing.
THEATER: “See How They Run” @ Barrington Stage Company, Pittsfield. Philip King’s quintessential farce about a young vicar’s wife who tries to fit into a small, tightly knit English village. Directed by Jeff Steitzer. 8pm. $15-$60. Through August 26.
MUSIC: Pousette-Dart @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Jon Pousette-Dart played a delightful solo show at Caffe Lena in May, and now in support of his new album, “Anti-Gravity,” he heads into Woodstock with his band – bassist Paul Socolow, drummer Eric Parker and guitarist Jim Chapdelaine. 9pm. $25.
