WEXT-FM has anounced the first round of bands slated to play at the 31st annual LarkFest street festival which will take place on Albany’s Lark Street between Washington and Madison avenues from 10am-5:30pm on Saturday, September 15.
Today’s announcement includes eight local bands and two national acts. Two more national bands – the festival headliners – are scheduled to be announced on Friday (August 10).
Admission to the one-day free festival is free.
The LarkFest bands announced today are:
GRAHAM ALEXANDER: As a cast member of the Beatles tribute band Rain, he played 150 performances on Broadway’s Great White Way. Now he’s touring in support of his self-titled debut album, which was released in December.
JUKEBOX THE GHOST: The Brooklyn-based indie rock trio of Ben Thornewill (vocals & piano), Tommy Siegel (vocals & guitar) and Jesse Kristin (drums) rolls into town in support of their just-released third album, “Safe Travels.”
And the homegrown Nippertown bands slated to rock LarkFest are Headband Jack, Sevendys, MaryLeigh & the Fauves, Erin Harkes, Dirty Paris, Northern Faces, the City Never Sleeps and the Lucky Jukebox Brigade.
