The Egg Adds Four New Concerts

Those new concerts just keep on comin’… Yes, The Egg in Albany has added four more shows to its seemingly ever-expanding 2012-13 concert series.

One of the strongest new voices in contemporary folk, blues, soul and gospel music, Grammy-nominated Ruthie Foster was voted Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year at the 2010 Blues Music Awards. She performs at The Egg in support of her newest recording, “Let it Burn.”

An annual tradition! A down-home concert of holiday songs and stories led by Christopher Shaw and Bridget Ball that features the Mountain Snow Orchestra – fiddler John Kirk, guitarist Kevin McKrell and percussionist Brian Melick.

    I saw Ruthie Foster a few years ago–she was excellent.

    As for my wishlist: Hoping The Egg will book Dr. John (it’s been ages since he last played Albany, and his new album is a killer), Buddy Guy, Sam Phillips, Neko Case, and Trombone Shorty.
