Songwriting Workshops at Fuzz Records

The recently formed Albany Music Coalition is sponsoring “Deciphering Songs,” a series of three workshops that explore the art of songwriting from several different angles. The workshops will feature a number of Nippertown’s most prominent experienced songwriters as they form panel discussions to focus on lyrics, instrumentals and arrangements.

Kicking off on Thursday evening (August 2), the “Deciphering Songs” series will take place at Fuzz Records in Albany. The workshops are free and open to the public. Participants are invited to bring along instruments, but it is not necessary.

Here’s the line-up of free workshops in the “Deciphering Songs” series:

THURSDAY (AUGUST 2), 6:30pm
“Lyrics First”
Panelists: Eric Margan (the Red Lions), Eric Krans (the Parlor), Jen O’Connor (the Parlor)

THURSDAY, AUGUST 23, 6:30pm
“Instrumentals First”
Panelists: Tim Koch (Sgt. Dunbar & the Hobo Banned), Chris Tenerowicz (Aficionado)

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 6:30pm
“Structure & Arrangement”
Panelists: Meagan Duffy (Hand Habits), Michael Eck (Ramblin Jug Stompers), Matthew Loiacono (Rosary Beard)
