RIP: Larry Hoppen of Orleans, 1951-2012

Sad news: Larry Hoppen, the voice of the pop group Orleans and a longtime Woodstock resident, passed away on Tuesday (July 24) at his home in Florida.

We send our condolences out to his family, friends and fans…

The Orleans Trio – an acoustic variation of the popular band featuring Larry Hoppen, his brother Lance Hoppen and Dennis “Fly” Amero – was slated to perform a concert at the Wood Theater in Glens Falls on Saturday, September 1.

Orleans had their biggest success back in the ’70s, scoring such Top 20 hits as “Still the One,” “Dance With Me” and “Love Takes Time.”
