Flashback Friday: Remembering the Shelf… And Richard Lainhart

In the late ’70s and into the ’80s, the Shelf was a swanky little nightclub in Albany’s Dewitt Clinton Hotel. This vintage TV report features owner-entrepeneur George Chelius talking about the venue’s history. The featured band is Doc Scanlon’s Rhythm Boys featuring the late Richard Lainhart (aka Doc Scanlon) on vibes, as well as bassist Don Dworkin, saxophonist Peter Davis, drummer Dave Durocher, guitarist Mike Novakowski and violinists David Ray and Frank Orsini.
