Vapor in Saratoga Springs has added a few special events to its calendar, including Young MC dropping by for Sights & Sounds night on Saturday, June 9 ($5); performances by Let’s Hang On! (a Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons tribute band) at 6 & 8pm on Thursday, July 19 ($20); Will Smith’s old musical partner DJ Jazzy Jeff for Sights & Sounds on Saturday, August 4 ($10); and Salt N Pepa at 9pm on Wednesday, August 15 ($30).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The line-up has been announced for the annual Music Haven Concert Series at Schenectady’s Central Park. The free six-concert series included performances by the Deb Callahan Band, Diego Garcia, Diblo Dibala, McPeake, Matuto and the Music Mobile’s Ruth Pelham.
The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield will be playing host to a tribute to one of the Berkshires’ gone-but-not-forgotten rock ‘n’ roll palaces, the old Woody’s Roadhouse in Washington, Mass. At 7:30pm on Saturday, September 29, “The Woody’s Roadhouse Reunion” will feature music from the Commander Cody Band, Fat, the Spampinato Brothers and Burnt Bacon & the Home Fries. And, yes, Woody will make an appearance, too. Tix are $35 & $45.

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park has put a few new shows in the books. The Gaslight Anthem roars in at 8pm on Monday, July 23 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); Halestorm headlines at 8pm on Friday, August 31, with New Medicine and Cavo in support ($15 in advance; $17 at the door); while Hatebreed crashes into UCH on Thursday, September 13 with White Chapel, All Shall Perish and Deez Nuts opening the show at 7:30pm ($15 in advance; $17 at the door). Tix for all three new shows will go on sale at 10am on Friday.

Bearsville Theater in Woodstock has bolstered its summer schedule with the addition of one of the coolest bands you’ve never heard of – Python Soup, who will be gracing the stage at 9pm on Monday, July 2. So who are these guys? Well, it’s an all-star combo featuring drum god Simon Phillips, clarinetist-saxman Don Byron, guitarist David Spinozza, bassist Scott Petito and keyboardist Pete Levin. Oh my, this sounds mighty interesting…

The Williamstowm Theatre Festival in Williamstown has added a couple of evenings of one-night-only stand-up comedy to its schedule. “The Importance of Being Lewis” is an evening of stand-up with Lewis Black at 7:30pm on Monday, July 9 ($40 & $60; VIP with post-performance reception $100); while “Susie With an Ess” is an evening with “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Susie Essman at 7:30pm on Monday, July 23 ($30 & $60). Both performances are benefits for the theater.
OPENERS: Homegrown band Wild Adriatic has snagged the opening act slot for Flogging Molly at the Palace Theatre in Albany on Saturday, June 16.
Down in Woodstock, the Colony Cafe has some tasty offerings on their summer calendar, most notably Jonathan Richman at 8pm on Sunday, June 10 ($15) and the dynamic duo of Billy Martin (MM&W’s daring drummer) and Wil Blades (organist) at 9pm on Saturday, July 7 ($15).

The Mansion Inn in Rock City Falls is hosting a cabaret series throughout the Saratoga racing season, and performers include six-time Emmy Award-winner Bruce Vilanch (July 18 & 19); Camille West (July 25 & 26), Michael Walters’ tribute to Dame Edna (August 1 & 8), Michael Walters (August 2 & 9), Sharon McNight (August 15 & 16) and Billy Stritch (22 & 23). Showtime is 8pm, and tix for all shows are $25 (plus a $10 food/drink minimum).
