The Battenkill Conservancy presents the second annual Battenkill Runs Through It Beach and Music Festival at the Town Beach on the banks of the Battenkill in Greenwich. The community fest takes place from 12noon-5pm on Saturday (May 26).

The fest will feature such river-related activities as fly-tying and fly-casting demonstrations and a river bug science table for kids, as well as kayak and canoe rides. There will also be a cupcake-eating contest, raffles and live music from Local 518 favorites Bob Warren, Olivia Quillio, the Netherwood Blues Band and Lynne & Richie Bittner.

Admission to the fest includes a picnic plate-full of foods prepared by Spoonful Kitchen & Catering, local restaurants and chefs. Tix are $12; $8 for youths; kids under 6 are free.

The rain date for the festival is Sunday (May 27).
