DISCUSSION: “The Arts: Trouble or Opportunity” @ Russell Sage College’s Meader Little Theatre, Troy. Bob Goepfert moderates a panel discussion and Q&A session with Nippertown arts leaders Peter Lesser (of The Egg), Philip Morris (of Proctors), Marcia White (of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center) and Dr. Susan Scrimshaw (of the Sage Colleges) about the current state of the local arts scene and its future. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Kottonmouth Kings @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. With Twiztid, Blaze & Big B. 7:30pm. $20.

MUSIC: “Stretched Boundaries” @ the Arts Center of the Capital Region, Troy. Tintinnabulate performs compositions and improvisations by members of the RPI Experimental Telepresence Seminar directed by Pauline Oliveros. With featured guest artists David Whalen and Christine Sun Kim. 7:30pm. $5.

READING: Shalom Auslander @ UAlbany Campus Center’s Assembly Hall, Albany. The fiction writer, humorist, cultural renegade and memoirist reads from his debut novel, “Hope: A Tragedy,” which tells the story of a troubled man who discovers – living in the attic of his upstate New York home – a decrepit old woman who claims to be Anne Frank. 8pm. FREE. Also a seminar at UAlbany Campus Center’s Assembly Hall at 4:15pm. FREE.
