In the spirit and tradition of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, the Hot Club of San Francisco knows that it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing…
And the west coast Gypsy jazz group certainly knows how to bring the swing, and that’s exactly what they’ll do when they step into the spotlight at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Saturday evening.
The Hot Club of SF performs many of the revered songs by Reinhardt and Grappelli, but the group also incorporates the original works of guitarist Paul Mehling and violinist (and two-time Grammy Award-winner) Evan Price, along with tunes from from the songbags of diverse composers ranging from Claude Debussy to Jelly Roll Morton.
