When veteran singer-songwriter-rocker Rob Skane released his latest album, “Phantom Power Trip,” he knew it was time to leave his one-man-rocker show behind. He assembled a trio to help him flesh out the sound, and the Rob Skane 3 was born.

On Saturday night, Skane is slated to unveil a new line-up for his trio in concert at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy. Newly recruited bassist Mike Lisi will be making his debut with the threesome, joining drummer Phil Lanz in the pumpin’ rhythm section. Nippertown music fans may remember Lisi from such bands as C. Jane Run and 3 Minute Pop.

“Everything just clicked, and I couldn’t be happier to be playing with Rob and Phil – great guys who make great music,” says Lisi, who also formerly served as pop music writer at The Daily Gazette and The Times Union.

Saturday night’s show will be held in the Arts Center’s theater and is being billed as “Rock & Roll for Grown-Ups.” The Rob Skane 3 will be sharing the bill with like-minded power-popsters the Sandy McKnight Fiasco.

The festivities kick off at 8pm on Saturday in the theater at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, and tix are $8.

BUT WAIT… We’ve got a deal for you! We’re giving away four pairs of FREE TIX to the show to lucky Nippertown readers! To enter the contest, just post a comment below.
