Flashback: The 50th Anniversary of Bob Dylan’s Debut Album

By Bokonon

50 Years Ago Today!

Hard to believe this anniversary has come up so relatively unremarked upon. Bob Dylan’s eponymous debut album was released by Columbia Records 50 years ago today – on March 19, 1962. A brilliant example of adapted folk songs along the lines of the Bard of Hibbing’s later releases “Good As I Been To You” and “World Gone Wrong,” the record was not the game changer that 1963’s “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” would be, but it is solid as a rock nonetheless. It was the thunder just before the lightning.
