Two unlikely musical mavericks – Buckethead and That 1 Guy – have joined forces to become the Frankenstein Brothers, and they’ll be making their Nippertown debut at Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 8pm on Friday, March 30. Wolff and Tuba open the show. Tix are $18 in advance; $20 at the door. Also new on the Northern Lights concert calendar are Gemini & Koan Sound at 8pm on Monday, March 5 with DJ Prophet, DJ vs VJ and Static Groove opening ($15 in advance; $17 at the door); country hitmaker Jerrod Niemann at 8:30pm on Thursday, May 31 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door).

Christina Perri lands at Northern Lights on Sunday, May 6, with Sleeping at Last opening the show at 8pm. Priced at $20 in advance, tix go on sale on Friday (February 17). Meanwhile, Breathe Carolina and the Ready Set co-headline on Friday, April 13, with Ashland High, Matt Toka and It Boys opening the show at 6:30pm. Priced at $15 in advance, tix go on sale at 10am on Saturday (February 18). And after a last-minute cancellation back in November, Blood On the Dance Floor have re-scheduled their Clifton Park performance for Sunday, April 22. Rounding out the bill for the 5pm show are Brokencyde, Deuce, Polkadot Cadaver, William Control, the Bunny the Bear, New Years Day and Hailey Rose. Priced at $15 in advance, tix go on sale on Monday (February 20).

A handful of new shows have been added to the concert calendar for the Eighth Step at Proctors in Schenectady, including Celtic favorite Susan McKeown on Saturday, March 10; Ferron with Karen Savoca & Pete Heitzman on Friday, March 23; and legendary jazz singer Sheila Jordan and her band on Friday, May 11. And you may want to mark your calendar now: The Eighth Step is planning their big 45th anniversary concert for Saturday, October 27.

Bluegrass queen and seven-time International Bluegrass Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year Rhonda Vincent and her band the Rage will be doing plenty of pickin’ ‘n’ singin’ at the Cohoes Music Hall in Cohoes at 7pm on Friday, March 23. Local favorite Dorothy Jane Siver opens the show. Tix are $25.

New shows are stacking up on the calendar for Club Helsinki in Hudson, too, including Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad at 9pm on Saturday, February 25; Rhett Miller with Mike + Ruthy at 9pm on Friday, April 13; and the killer double-bill of Eilen Jewell and Los Straitjackets at 9pm on Friday, June 1. NOTE: In order to make way for Rhett Miller, the double-bill of the Underskore Orkestra and the Lucky Five has been moved to 9pm on Saturday, April 21.

Multi-talented former blues prodigy Lucky Peterson and his band (featuring his wife Tamara Peterson on vocals) rip it up at the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock at 9pm on Friday (February 17) in support of his award-winning recent comeback album, “You Can Always Turn Around.” Tix are $15.

The unlikely yet sublime duo of Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby return to Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany at 8pm on Saturday, April 28. Also landing on Valentine’s stage are Foxy Shazam with Maniac and Cadaver Dogs at 7:30pm on Friday, March 30 ($12 advance tix on sale at 10am on Friday); the garage-rockin’ Bare Wires with Party Boat at 8pm on Sunday, March 25; and Skip the Foreplay at 7pm on Saturday, May 19 ($8 in advance; $10 at the door).

Trombonist Sarah Morrow and her band and newly honored first-time Grammy Award winner Christian McBride & Inside Straight have both been added to the roster of performers for Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, June 30.

The Golden Oldies Spectacular slated for Proctors in Schenectady at 7:30pm on Saturday, October 20 will feature Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Little Anthony & the Imperials, as well as the Duprees, the Brooklyn Bridge, David Somerville (the original lead singer of the Diamonds) and LaLa Brooks (the original lead singer of the Crystals). Tix are $36.75, $44.75 & $51.75.

Christian rockers the Newsboys bring their God’s Not Dead tour to the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls at 7pm on Tuesday, April 24. Tix are $25 and $35.
