“We are thrilled, excited and nervous as a school-boy/girl to inform you of the upcoming release of our new full-length album on February 14,” reports Philip Price of Winterpills. The follow-up to their 2010 “Tuxedo of Ashes” EP, the band’s upcoming 13-song album is titled “All My Lovely Goners” and will be released on the Signature Sounds label. In addition to CD and digital download formats, the band is also planning a vinyl release of the album in April.
In support of the new album, winterpills will play a hometown CD release party at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton at 7pm on Saturday, February 25. Special guests Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion will share the stage. Tix are $10 in advance; $13 at the door. Winterpills will also celebrate the release with an Albany show at Steamer No. 10 Theatre in Albany on Friday, May 4, sharing the bill with Rosary Beard.

With new fiddler Mat Kane on board, the Railroad Boys are hitting the road big-time with a showcase performance at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Framingham, Massachusetts on Saturday (February 18) before making a cross country jaunt to a pair of performances and a workshop at the Wintergrass Festival in Bellevue, Washington the following weekend, February 23-26.

Bluegrass faves C.B. and the boys will be firing up the cameras for a possible live concert DVD release when they take the stage at the Liberty Public House in Rhinebeck at 8pm on Saturday (February 18). DOC SCANLON’S PAN ATLANTIC SWINGSTERS:
Jumpin’ across the Big Pond for the eighth time in just five years, Nippertown’s own King of Swing bassist-vocalist Doc Scanlon kicks off yet another European tour on Wednesday in Paris. Doc Scanlon’s Pan Atlantic Swingsters – also featuring clarinetist Dan Levinson (of Wynton Marsalis, Mel Torme, Leon Redbone and the Nighthawks Big Band, as well as HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”) and Bronx-born, Paris-based guitarist “Bad Boy” Billy Collins, as well as additional musicians along the path – will be tackling a month-long tour that takes them across France, Spain and the Canary Islands.
