Major New SPAC Rock Concert Announcement…

It’s headbangin’ time!

High On Fire
As I Lay Dying
Asking Alexandria
The Devil Wears Prada

all together on the same show!

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has announced its 2012 summer schedule, and it includes a tour date at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs on Tuesday, July 31.

Slipknot headlines the fest with Slayer also on the main stage schedule. Another major special guest will be announced on March 5. And fourth band will round out the amphitheater stage line-up – either the Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying or Asking Alexandria, who will be playing in rotation on the tour. (No word yet which band will grace the big SPAC stage.)

But if you’re gonna call it a Mayhem Fest, you need a second stage full-throttle bands, don’t you? No problem. And Anthrax will be headlining the second stage. And of the previously mentioned rotation bands – the Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria – whoever’s not on the main stage, will hold court on the second stage. And finally rounding out the second stage line-up will be Whitechapel, High On Fire and a Jagermeister battle of the bands winner.

Stay tuned for additional details regarding ticket prices and on sale dates…

They had Motorhead up on the site for a short period yesterday when this was announced… so that makes me think they may be secert headliners. Plus Motorhead are on tour so maybe they wait to announce so they dont kill ticket sales for current tour…

Hmmmmm… In the meantime, let’s not forget that Motorhead and Megadeth hit the Glens Falls Civic Center on Wednesday night…

I’m WAY too old to appreciate this show (despite the fact the da wife & I were patrons at City Gardens when Jon Stewart was bartender/nobody).
