The Unlikely Reunion of Peter Frampton & His No. 1 Guitar

Peter Frampton and his long lost custom Les Paul

Peter Frampton and the customized, 1954-vintage Gibson guitar that he used to record his ground-breaking “Frampton Comes Alive” mega-selling album have been reunited… three decades after the guitarist assumed that it was destroyed in a 1980 airplane crash.

While on tour in South America back in 1980, that prized Les Paul guitar was among Frampton’s equipment on board a cargo plane that crashed in Venezuela while en route to Panama.

Unbeknownst to Frampton or anyone else, however, the guitar somehow survived, and was recently returned to the guitarslinger – coincidentally (?) just in time for his “Frampton Comes Alive” 35 tour.

For more info…

NOTE: Peter Frampton – and presumably his favorite guitar – will be in the spotlight at the Palace Theatre in Albany at 7:30pm on Friday, February 10. Tix are $39.50, $59.50 & $69.50.
