19. Carrie Rodriguez – it’s time to hear that sultry voice and astounding fiddle from Austin, Texas.

18. Cindy Blackman (with or without Carlos Santana) – it’s time to mess with time signatures in a groovy way.

17. Sam Phillips – it’s time to hear some wry, surreal Left Coast songs.

16. The Stone River Boys – it’s time to get down to some roots rock and country and do some crazy dancing.

15. Satan and Adam – it’s time for a long overdue reunion for some Harlem blues.

14. Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart – it’s always time to hear the best couple playing in music today.

13. Nicole Atkins – it’s time to return (regardless of Revolution Hall’s demise).

8. The Lonnie Brooks Blues Band – it’s time to bring a slice of authentic Chicago blues to a venue on a Saturday night.

7. Allen Toussaint – it’s time to hear a New Orleans legend playing some of the best music of his career.

6. Iggy & the Stooges – it’s time to restore street cred to the Times Union Center with some Detroit mayhem.

5. Imelda May – it’s time to bring some Irish rockabilly sass to the locals.

4. Mavis Staples – it’s time to soak up the songs of dignity and hope from The Voice herself.

3. Barrence Whitfield & the Savages – it’s time to hear this reunited band of genuises play us out before the Mayan calendar kicks in.
