MUSIC: Eleanor Friedberger @ the Spotty Dog, Hudson. As half of the Fiery Furnaces (with her brother Matthew), she established herself as a musical force to be reckoned with. OPERA ON FILM: “Faust” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Under the direction of Tony Award winner Des MacAnuff, Jonas Kaufmann takes on the title role, with René Pape as the devil and Marina Poplavskaya as Marguerite, in the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Gounod’s classic retelling of the Faust legend. 1pm. $25; children under 12 $15.
