This Week’s SPAC Concert Update

New announcements from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs:

Grammy and Emmy Award-winning pianist and composer Michel Camilo has been added to the line-up of performers for the 35th annual Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival on Saturday, June 30. Camilo will be joined by master conguero Giovanni Hidalgo and bassist Charles Flores in support of the trio’s latest album, “Mano a Mano.”

And Broadway pianist-singer-actor-composer Bob Stillman has been added to SPAC’s cabaret series, “Live at the Algonquin.” Stillman will offer two performances of his cabaret show, “It Could Happen To You: A Man’s Musical Guide To Love,” at SPAC’s Spa Little Theater at 2:15 & 8pm on Tuesday, August 28. The show features music that bridges the generation gap from George Gershwin and Johnny Mercer to Billy Joel and James Taylor. Nippertown theater fans will remember Stillman from his performance as Ludwig van Beethoven in Capital Repertory Theatre’s marvelous 2010 production of “33 Variations.”
