We’d like to congratulate Chatham’s own Queen of the Blues Rory Block, who has been honored with a pair of nominations from the Blues Foundation in Memphis.

The foundation announced the nominations for their 33rd annual Blues Music Awards, and Block picked up nods in two prestigious categories – Best Acoustic Blues Album (for her latest album, “Shake ‘Em On Down: A Tribute to Mississippi Fred McDowell”) and Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year.

The Blues Foundation will announce the winners at its 33rd Blues Music Awards in a ceremony and showcase performance at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis on Thursday, May 10.

Block’s next scheduled Nippertown performance is slated to take place at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Sunday, March 25.
