Yes, Hurricane Bells were on the soundtrack for “New Moon,” the second installment of the uber popular “Twilight” movie series. But you really shouldn’t hold that against them.
Hurricane Bells was really just a one-man side-project band for Rochester native Steve Schlitz, who was looking to branch out a bit after his band Longwave released their fourth album, “Secrets Are Sinister.”
Now Schlitz and pals have released “Tides and Tales,” Hurricane Bells’ sophomore album, and they’ve hit the road in support of the new CD with a tour that lands them at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany on Friday night.
Joining Hurricane Bells at Valentine’s on Friday will be Nate Danker (of The Viking) and Meg Duffy (Olivia Quillio’s frequent guitarslinger). Showtime is 8pm. Tix are $8 in advance; $10 at the door.
BUT WAIT… What’s this? FREE TICKETS? That’s right, we’re giving away a pair of FREE TIX to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winners will be selected at random and notified on Friday. Enter today! And good luck! Congratulations to Amber!
