Flashback Foto: Name the Band! Win a Prize!

Flashback Foto

Unfortunately, there was no winner in last week’s contest.

And because of the Thanksgiving holiday, we’re launching this week’s FLASHBACK FOTO contest a day earlier than usual. So we went digging, digging, digging through the vast underground Nippertown archive bunker to unearth yet another fabulous band promo photo from years gone by.

Thanks to the fine folks at the Spectrum 8 Theatres in Albany, we’re giving away a FREE PAIR OF MOVIE PASSES to the 7th commenter who correctly identifies this band. Please keep in mind that all of the weekly Flashback Fotos are of local Nippertown bands of yesteryear, which should help steer you away from guesses like Sum 41, Stars on 45 or Black 47.

To make it fair, comments on this post won’t show up until we announce the winner on Monday afternoon. One comment per person, please, and be sure to leave your correct, working email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. Good luck! Alas, only four people could correctly identify Glaze (who had one of our favorite T-shirt slogans of all time: “Try Glaze, It’s Rock.”

  11. Hey Greg:
I think this is The Plague. I think I saw these guys play their punk songs and the photo looks like Mr. Eck circa late-80s?

    Good stuff.

    Take care,

You know, a band photo with Mike Eck in it really only limits the pool to about 60% of all Nippertown bands — it’s sort of like the category of Bands-Ronnie Wood-has-Sat-in-With. Maybe Mike should have his own Flashback Foto category. There could be subcategories of Mike bands that: existed only in the studio; existed only live; were named after b-sides; had the letters “t-o-m” in order in their name; had guys named “Tom” in them; etc.

Normando, we should get together and jam sometime!

  18. Normando says:

Mike – it never get’s old!! (Didn’t we once? Rock n Roll (Velvets, not Zep) at a CDB event?)
