FUNDRAISER/MUSIC: “Tribute to Spinal Tap” @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. “It goes to 11…” In honor of today’s triple 11 date, the Geoff Ryan Band, House of Vice, Von Hanzig (members of Pulsing Stump, Big Kahuna Surf, Public Servants), Big Frank & the Bargain Bingers, Knyghts of Fuzz, Vicious Jimmy and Shark Sandwich (members of Ominous Seapods) serve up a selection of Spinal Tap covers for your delight. It’s a benefit for the Chris Ryan Art Scholarship Fund. 8pm.

MUSIC: Sense Offenders @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. With Guiltless Cult and the Realside. What do all three of these bands have in common? Terry McClain, and this is his fond farewell to Nippertown show, as he heads off to relocate to Nashville. 9pm. Related story.

MUSIC: Two Dark Birds @ Vivo Fine Art, Woodstock. The Catskills band celebrates the release of their sophomore album, “Songs for the New.” With Simi Stone of the Duke & the King. 8pm. $10.

FUNDRAISER/MUSIC: Taylor’s Heroes: A Guitar Hero Fundraiser @ Universal Preservation Hall, Saratoga Springs. In honor of Saratoga High grad Taylor Miller, who was 19 years old when he lost his life last year defending his country in Afghanistan. He would have turned 21 on 11/11/11. Celebrate Veterans Day and Taylor’s memory. With music by City Rhythm. 7pm. $60; 25 years old and under $25.

READING: Jan Tramontano @ the Women’s Building, Albany. The local author reads more her book, “Standing on the Corner of Lost and Found.” With Kathe Kokoklias, Karen Fabiane and Doreen Perrine. 7pm.
