The Levon Helm Band headlines “Shelter From the Storm,” a flood relief concert, at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston at 8pm on Friday, November 18. In typical fashion, Levon and his already mighty band will be joined by a parade of special guests, including Donald Fagen, Natalie Merchant, Graham Parker, John Medeski, Chris Wood and more. Tix are priced at $50 and $100, and all funds raised will go to the Phoenicia Rotary/Sharp Committee Flood Relief, Prattsville Relief Fund, the Mark Project, Ulster County Habitat for Humanity Flood Relief.

Although there’s been no official word yet from the venue, it looks like Diego Garcia – one of the co-headliners at September’s 30th anniversary LarkFest bash – is headed back to Nippertown for a concert at The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, January 27. According to the artist’s Facebook page, tix will be priced at $12.

Jazz vibraphone great Joe Locke joins bassist Jay Anderson and drummer Jaimeo Brown for a special Planet Arts one2one concert at the Athens Cultural Center on Saturday, December 3. There’s a pre-concert talk with the musicians at 7pm, followed by music at 8pm.

Veteran folksinger-songwriter-turned-cabaret singer Judy Collins steps into the spotlight at the Wood Theater in Glens Falls at 8pm on Wednesday, April 11. Tix are $68.50.

Dax Riggs – alumnus of such bands as Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion and Dead Boy & the Elephantmen – rolls into The Linda in Albany on Friday, December 9. Skeletons in the Piano, Ashley Pond and Justin Joseph kick off the evening’s festivities at 7:30pm. Tix are $10 in advance; $12 at the door.

Brooklyn electro-rockers Heloise & the Savoir Faire invade Club Helsinki in Hudson at 8pm on Wednesday, November 17. Ticket price TBA.

Amy LaVere lands at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany at 8pm on Thursday, December 1. Tix are $8 in advance. Also at Valentine’s, Man Overboard hits the stage on Tuesday, December 13 with Daytrader, True Things, State Champs and I Was a Hero kicking off the evening at 7pm. Priced at $10 in advance, tix go on sale at 10am on Friday (November 5).

Northern Lights in Clifton Park welcomes Rebelution’s Peace of Mind tour on Wednesday, January 11, with the Grouch and Pep Love opening at 8pm. Priced at $15 in advance, tix go on sale at 10am on Friday, November 11. Also upcoming at Northern Lights are Mindless Self Indulgence at 8pm on Friday, March 9 ($22.50 in advance; tix on sale at 10am on Saturday); Iced Earth and Symphony X with Warbringer at 8pm on Sunday, March 11 ($20 in advance; on sale at 10am on Friday, November 11.

CANCELLED: Friday night’s stand-up comedy show by Ralphie May at The Egg has been cancelled due to illness.

POSTPONED: Classical-crossover pianist Christopher O’Riley’s performance scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield has been postponed and re-scheduled for Friday, August 10, 2012.
