MUSIC: Ramblin Jug Stompers @ the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Averill Park. Bowtie, Cousin Clyde, Mister Eck and Wild Bill take a vintage approach to funky, back-porch tunes. 8pm. $16; under 18 $10. UPDATE: Due to weather, the concert has been postponed to Saturday, December 3.

MUSIC: Disposable Rocket Band @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. The B3nson Recording Co. and SwordPaw join forces to present the fourth annual Halloween Freak-Out featuring our fave every-day-is-Halloween band. The freaky festivities continue with Goldtooth, Cosmonauts, the Loom, Sea of Trees and Walking X-Ray. With a costume contest and plenty of treats. 7:30pm. $7.

MUSIC: Michael Collier @ Spencertown Academy, Spencertown. Solo piano recital featuring works by Beethoven, Chopin and Schumann to benefit the Spencertown Academy Arts Center. 7:30pm. $20. UPDATE: Due to the weather, the performance has been postponed to 6pm on Saturday, November 12.

ROLLER DERBY: The Albany All Stars @ the Washington Avenue Armory, Albany. Albany’s roller derby gals take on the Watertown Black River Rollers. Featuring live music by Slick Fitty. 7pm. $12; under 12 $4.

TALK: Rodrigo Tarraza @ the Spectrum Playhouse, Lee. Tarraza offers a lecture titled “The Beatles: Their Songs in Context of the 1960’s, A Cultural Awakening.” 11am. $10 suggested donation.

THEATER: “The End” @ MCLA Church Street Center Auditorium, North Adams. The Gare St. Lazare Players of Ireland present the Samuel Beckett play starring Conor Lovett and directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett. 7:30pm. $15; students $5.

Christopher Shaw emcees an all-star line-up of musicians, including Holly & Evan, the Bentwood Rockers, Ray Murray & the Bomb Squad, Tom Lindsay, the Broken String Band, Phil Drum & Sonny Speed, the Special Creek Bluegrass Band, more. 7pm. $20. Four Nippertown bands don their musical disguises for a night: Point Blank rips through the Dead Boys’ songbook; Hot Cousin tackles Joan Jett and the Runaways to boot; Grainbelt runs amok in the Replacements catalog; and the Goat Stingers play Cheap Trick‚Äôs “Live at Budokan” from beginning to end! 9pm.

MUSIC: The Williams Jazz Ensembles @ Williams College’s ’62 Center for Theatre & Dance, Williamstown. Director Andy Jaffe leads several collegiate jazz ensembles through the music of the music of Duke Ellington, Gil Evans, Oliver Nelson, Thelonious Monk and others. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC/THEATER: “This Is Broadway” @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. Under the direction of Ted Concepcion and Donna Vidoli, more than 40 musicians, singers and dancers will perform a variety of Broadway hits. A benefit for the Berkshire Theatre Group. 7:30pm. $15, $20.

    The concert by Peter Wolf scheduled to take place at The Egg on Saturday, October 29th at 7:30 PM has been postponed due to the winter storm warning.

    A new date will be announced in the near future. Tickets already purchased will be honored on the rescheduled date.
