So Much To See and Do in October in the Berkshires [Berkshire on Stage]

Berkshire on Stage: October On Stage

While the Berkshires are a major destination for those who love the change of seasons, it is also a last chance to see many of our resident performing groups before the long winter hibernation. Some, like the Berkshire Theatre Group and Shakespeare & Company hang on until Christmas, what with their offerings of A Christmas Carol and The Santaland Diaries for the holidays.

Barrington Stage Company

Right now The Best of Enemies is holding forth at Barrington Stage Company, and it continues to be one of the most touching and important plays to be offered in the Berkshires in years. Playwright Mark St. Germain has crafted a tale about civil rights that reminds us of the horrors of bigotry and the human potential for change. I called it “moving, riveting and powerful”. (Go to review) The cast has one change, Don Guillory who joins the cast as Bill Riddick, the community organizer who sets the action in motion.

Also on tap is their continuing series of Live from the 92Y with Andy Borowitz presenting the funniest American writers on October 19 and Barbara Walters with Dr. Gail Salt on October 27. (More Details)
