MUSIC: The Midtown Men @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. The Music Hall kicks off its 2011-2012 season with a special concert featuring the four original Broadway cast members of “Jersey Boy” singing the hits of the Four Seasons and other ’60 pop groups. 7pm. $40, $44, $49.

TALK: Frank Rich @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. An intimate conversation with one of the pre-eminent arts writers. a bestselling author, award-winning commentator and singular op-ed voice. The talk will be facilitated by WAMC’s Joe Donahue. 2pm. $15, $45, $65; VIP $100.

ART RECEPTION: “Dwell” @ the Contemporary Artists Center at Woodside, Troy. Co-curated by Leah Rico and Michael Oatman, the outdoor exhibition examines the intersection between art and built environment. With music by Sam Sowyrda (7pm) and Super 400 (8pm). 5:30pm. FREE.

FILM/MUSIC: “A Suitcase Full of Chocolate” @ The Egg, Albany. A documentary film about gifted pianist Sofia Cosma with a live piano performance and commentary by the producer of the film, Lincoln Mayorga. 3pm. $10. Also 7pm Monday.

MUSIC: Grayson Capps & the Lost Cause Minstrels @ the West Kortright Centre, East Meredith. The soulful Alabama-based troubadour has two songs and a cameo in the new film, “Straw Dogs.” 7:30pm. $16; 18 & under $11.

THEATER: “The Monkey’s Paw” @ East Greenbush Community Library, East Greenbush. The Spotlight Players present a staged reading directed by Tami Warren. 2pm. FREE.

MUSIC: The Nancy Donnelley Quartet @ Provence at Stuyvesant Plaza, Albany. Swingtime Jazz Society presents the vocalist and her band – pianist Peter Tomlinson, bassist Otto Gardner and drummer Peter O’Brien – in concert, followed by an open jazz jam from 6-7pm. 4pm. $15; students $5.

MUSIC: The Cantilena Chamber Choir @ the Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield. Under the direction of Andrea Goodman, the choir will present Music in the Museum, an afternoon of a cappella choral music. With the Taconic High School Honors Chorus under the direction of Jessica A. Passetto. 3pm. FREE with museum admission.
