Festival Fever: Pittsfield CityJazz Festival, 10/6-20/11

The Pittsfield CityJazz Festival kicks off tonight, and a number of performances will be held at an array of different venues throughout Pittsfield through Thursday, October 20.

The centerpiece concert will be a performance by the Grace Kelly Quartet, who absolutely wowed jazz fans last month at the Jazz at the Lake Festival in Lake George. (Read our review here.) The 19-year-old sax phenom will be upping the ante considerably at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, however, where she’ll be joined by veteran saxmaster Phil Woods and drummer Greg Caputo for her concert on Saturday, October 15. The Berkshires Jazz Youth Ensemble will open the show.

But there’s lots more music to the festival, and here’s a round-up of scheduled performances:
