New Concerts @ the Mahaiwe: Lyle Lovett, Mavis Staples, More…

The Mahaiwe Performing Ats Center in Great Barrington has announced a batch of new concerts for its upcoming 2011-2012 season. Tix are currently on sale to members and will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, October 12.

Here are the concerts added to the Mahaiwe’s calendar:

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11, 7pm
Spyro Gyra
$40-$60
Eight-time Grammy-winners bring their jazz-fusion twist to the holidays with “A Night Before Christmas.”

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17, 8pm
Lyle Lovett
$70-$100
With his distinctive voice and wry sense of humor, the four-time Grammy Award-winner is one of the all-time great American singer-songwriters.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 7pm
Mavis Staples
$40-$70
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner and National Heritage Fellowship Award recipient is on a major career resurgence with recent albums produced by Ry Cooder and Jeff Tweedy.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 8pm
The Paul Winter Consort

The saxophonist, bandleader, composer and explorer of the world’s musical traditions weaves together a concert of his Earth Music.

SUNDAY, MARCH 25, 7pm
The Blind Boys of Alabama
