Festival Fever: Jazzstock @ Colony Cafe, 10/9-10/11

Taking advantage of the three-day Columbus Day weekend, the Colony Cafe in Woodstock is hosting a two-day jazz festival on Sunday and Monday (October 9 & 10).

Curated by Hudson Valley jazz vets Teri Roiger and John Menegon, the Jazzstock Autumn Festival features a diverse group of jazz musicians, as well as film sreenings and poetry readings.

Here’s the schedule of events and performances:

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9
2pm: Jazz films by Burrill Crohn, “Joe Williams: A Portrait in Song” and “Aka Fathead”
4pm: The Jeff Lederer & Jamie Saft Duo: A 75th Birthday Tribute to Albert Ayler
7pm: The SUNY New Paltz Jazz Ensemble
8pm: Joe Lovano, Judi Silvano & Friends

MONDAY, OCTOBER 10
2pm: Jazz films by Burrill Crohn, “Women in Jazz” and footage from “Playing With Parkinson’s”
3pm: Warren Bernhardt, Patrick McKearn, John Esposito, Vinnie Martucci, more: A 94th Birthday Tribute to Thelonious Monk
7pm: Poetry/Spoken Word and Music featuring Mikhail Horowitz, Jay Clayton, Brenda Bufalino, Sarah James, Steve Clorfeine, Mary Anne DeProphetis, Teri Roiger and John Menegon’s Free Suite Ensemble featuring Patrick McKearn and Tani Tabbal
