FESTIVAL/MUSIC: LarkFest @ Lark St., Albany. Albany’s biggest free street party is finally here. The Silent Disco, Kid’s Zone, street vendors and two stages with non-stop music starting at 10:20am with Blotto. 10am. FREE. Related story & full schedule.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Jazz at the Lake: Lake George Jazz Weekend @ Shepard Park, Lake George. Day One of the fabulous, free jazz fest with the beautiful lake as a backdrop. Don’t miss John Ellis & Double-Wide! 1pm. FREE. Related story & schedule.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Irish 2000 Music & Arts Festival @ Saratoga County Fairgrounds, Ballston Spa. It’s Day Two of the two-day fest featuring the Glengarry Bhoys, Black 47, Carbon Leaf, Leahy and lots more. 11am. $20; children under 10 free. $3 parking fee. Related story and schedule of performances.

FUNDRAISER/FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Roots Music Festival @ The Linda, Albany. A benefit for the JC Club featuring a range of Nippertown roots bands from the Red Haired Strangers to the Heavenly Echoes Gospel Ensemble to Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys. 7pm. $15. Related story.

MUSIC: Todd Nelson’s TN3 @ Hamilton & Dove streets, Albany. An alum of the very first LarkFest 30 years ago, guitarist Nelson and his band fire up a very unofficial guerrilla stage for LarkFest. 12:30-2:30pm. FREE. Related story.

MUSIC: “A Cappella Old & New” @ Caffe Lena and Universal Preservation Hall, Saratoga Springs. The afternoon kicks off with an open house and reception featuring music and refreshments from 12:30-1:30pm at Caffe Lena, and then moves over to Universal Preservation Hall for an a cappella main concert at 2pm featuring the Colgate Vintage Thirteen with guest performances by the Skidmore Drastic Measures and the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs A Cappella Chorus. Proceeds benefit Caffe Lena and Universal Preservation Hall. $20.

MUSIC: The Official LarkFEST After Party @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. giveaways, special guests and high-octane rock and roll from Nippertown’s two hottest power trios the Charlie Watts Riots and Super 400. 6pm.

MUSIC: Albany Symphony Orchestra @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. opening night of the symphony’s new season features Holst’s The Planets and Elgar’s Cello Concerto. 7:30pm. $17, $30, $40, $52.

MUSIC: The Mahavishnu Project @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Drummer Gregg Bendian leads the Mahavishnu Orchestra tribute band playing “Birds of Fire” in its entirety. Guest guitarist Jesse Gress opens the show with a Jeff Beck tribute. 8pm. $20.
