“Well, let’s see if I can remember. Man, I think the earliest album that I can remember asking my mom to buy for me was after we had been to a Hank Williams, Jr. concert.

It was before he was what he is now. Back then, he was still singing his dad’s songs, and he had just started writing his own songs. He hadn’t had all the ‘Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound’ stuff yet.

So she got me one of those albums. It had a song on it called ’11 Roses’ and a song called ‘Hamburger Steak, Holiday Inn,’ or something like that.”

Country superstar Toby Keith brings his Locked & Loaded Tour to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs at 7pm on Thursday (September 8). Eric Church and J.T. Hodges are slated to open the show. Reserved amphitheater tix are $49.75 & $75, while lawn general admission is $29.50.

What a great comment, he’s so insightful and interesting! Maybe he could have been more concise and just said: “Duh?”

  2. Bill – He answered the question. Why the hostility?

Answered it that way so jingoist extremists could understand.
