Friday is gonna be one big, long busy day for Nippertown bands.
The Local Legends Live free fest kicks off at the Empire State Plaza in Albany at 12noon on Friday. And from 6-10pm on Friday, the Downtown Albany Jazz Fest Competition features 10 more bands at 10 downtown venues.
And to cap off your homegrown music marathon Friday, you can head straight to Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany for the Local 518 Rock n Relief Fundraiser for Hurricane Victims. Starting at 7:30pm, the massive marathon benefit concert will feature 18 homegrown bands and solo performers, all donating their time and talent to help out our neighbors in need.
The line-up of performers includes:
Charlie Watts Riots
The Slaughterhouse Chorus
Holly & Evan
Knyghts of Fuzz
My Favorite Fence
Mike Hotter (of Swamp Baby)
Jesse Calhoun (of the Ameros)
The Rob Skane 3
At Valentine’s, two stages – both upstairs and down – will feature a non-stop parade of Nippertown bands and musicians, and your donation of $7 (21 and over); $10 (ages 18-20) at the door gets you in to see all of it.
Organized by Eric Halder of Charmboy, the benefit bash will also feature raffles and a bake sale, and 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the local hurricane and flood relief efforts of Schoharie County Community Action Program, Inc. and the Fulmont Community Action Agency.
If you can’t attend the benefit bash, but would still like to help out, you can make donations here.
See you there…
