Festival Fever: moe.down @ Gelston Castle Estate, 9/2-4/11

moe.down

The 12th annual moe.down festival invades Gelston Castle Estate in Mohawk over Labor Day weekend, and when jam band superstars moe. thrown down their own festival, they bring it in spades.

In fact, former Nippertowners moe. will be playing six – count ’em, 6 – shows throughout the three-day fest: 11:15pm on Friday; 2:45pm, 10pm & 12midnight on Saturday; and fest-closing sets at 8 & 10pm on Sunday.

But, of course, there’s lots more music on tap for the fest than just moe. Also hitting the stages will be the Levon Helm Band (with very special guest Bob Weir), Ween, TV On the Radio, Slightly Stoopid, Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, Ozomatli, Railroad Earth, the New Mastersounds, Rubblebucket, Dangermuffin, the Ragbirds and Gary Clark, Jr.

With a laid-back vibe and an intimate and scenic setting, the fest has only two stages, and the bands never overlap, which means that the fans will never miss a beat… if they can keep up the pace.

The price of admission includes camping. Three-day fest tix are $145 in advance; $160 at the gate. Sunday-only one-day tix are $55 inadvance; $65 at the gate.
