Acclaimed jazz pianist Taylor Eigsti makes a tour stop at Skidmore College’s Zankel Music Center at 8pm on Friday, December 9, in support of his latest album “Daylight at Midnight,” which finds him re-interpreting the melodies of tunes by the likes of Nick Drake, Mute Math, Rufus Wainwright, Feist and other contemporary pop artists. Tix are $12; seniors $7; students $5.

The Sword roars into Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 7:30pm on Thursday, September 22. In the support slots for the show are Monstro, Ironweed and Maggot Brain. Priced at $13 in advance, tix are slated to go on sale at 10am on Friday. Also at NL, Motion City Soundtrack roars in at 7pm on Sunday, October 9. Priced at $12.50 in advance, tix go on sale at 10am on Saturday. And Alesana headlines the Rock Yourself to Sleep Tour on Sunday, October 16. The support line-up for the show (which starts at 6pm) includes Sky Lit Drive, Sleeping with Sirens, Atilla, Memphis May Fire and Serianna. $13 advance tix go on sale at 10am on Saturday.

Spottiswoode & His Enemies – who played in Hudson for Club Helsinki’s opening night back in May, 2010 – are headed back for a return engagement at 9pm on Friday, October 28. Tix are $15 in advance; $18 at the door. Also at Helsinki: Sex Mob at 9pm on Friday, October 7 ($TBA) and Tift Merritt at 9pm on Friday, October 21 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door).

A founding member of the Klezmatics, fiddler Alicia Svigals leads her Klezmer Fiddle Express – also featuring accordionist Patrick Farrell and bassist Brian Glassman – into the Recital Hall at UAlbany’s Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm on Thursday, September 15. Tix are $15; seniors $12; students $10.

There’s no official word from the Glens Falls Civic Center yet, but according to his website, ventriloquist-comedian Jeff Dunham and his cast of characters are slated to make a tour stop at the Glens Falls arena on Thursday, December 8.

CANCELLED: Apparently, we won’t be able to “Come and Get It.” The concert by ’60s British pop vets Badfinger – which was originally slated for the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Saturday night (August 27) – has been cancelled. The concert will not be re-scheduled. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.
