“The mission of Word x Word is to celebrate the transformative power of words – written, spoken, and sung; to engage diverse groups in cutting-edge, live performances as both audiences and participants.”
The annual Word x Word Festival does a magnificent job of mixing the literary with the musical, but the focus is always, as you might assume, placed directly on the “word.” Taking place in a variety of locations throughout downtown Pittsfield – theaters, restaurants, galleries and even a barber shop – the fest continues through Saturday.
Admission to all events is free, except for the closing performance at the Colonial Theatre at 8pm on Saturday.
