One of Nippertown’s all-time most popular bands is ready for another reunion.
Back in the early ’80s when the Grinch had an Irish pub empire that stretched from Albany to Schenectady to Saratoga Springs, Donnybrook Fair was the band to see if you wanted in on a good, raucous, Guinness-soaked party brimming over with lots of laughs and great Celtic music.
The trio of Irish rovers – Kevin McKrell, Jeff Strange and David McDonnell – had been slated for a pre-St. Patrick’s Day reunion concert at The Egg last year, but when that show was cancelled, many feared that we might never get a chance to see the threesome together on stage again.
Fortunately, we were wrong…
Back together for the first time since a 2007 reunion at The Egg (can it really be that long ago?), Donnybrook Fair is back in action this week.
They’ll be hitting the stage at the Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs for two shows on Thursday night (August 18). Showtimes are 7 and 9:30pm. Tix are $20, and you’d be advised to make your reservations in advance.
But as they say in those TV commercials, but wait, there’s more…
Donnybrook Fair will also be one of the headline bands at this weekend’s Bennington Irish Music Festival at Colgate Park in Bennington. The band is scheduled for performances at 3:45pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. Tix are $20 per day, or you can buy a two-day pass for $35.
Welcome back, boys!
