MUSIC: John Hiatt & the Combo @ The Egg, Albany. The superb singer-songwriter returns town in support of his brand new album, “Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns.” (Read our CD review.) 7:30pm. $34.50.

MUSIC: David Wilcox @ Central Park’s Music Haven, Schenectady.Often compared to James Taylor, the veteran singer-songwriter hits the stage in support of his 17th album, “Reverie.” With Olivia Quillio.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Hudson Music Festival @ various locations, Hudson. The inaugural fest wraps up with free music by the Last Conspirators, Liv Carrow, Solar Abyss, Headwest and more, including the Hudson Black Arts & Cultural Festival. 11am. Mostly FREE.

MUSIC: The Lustre Kings @ Freedom Park, Scotia. Revved up rockabilly on the river… 7pm. FREE.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Royal Family Affair @ Stratton Mountain, Bondville. Soulive’s inaugural fest wraps up with performances by Ivan Neville’s DumpstaPhunk, John Brown’s Body, Neal., Caveman and the requisite all-star end-o’-fest jam session. 1pm. $34.50.

MUSIC: Steve Forbert @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The singer-songwriter keeps on rollin’ from his 1978 debut, “Alive On Arrival,” to his latest album, “The Place and the Time.” 8pm. $25.

PARTY/MUSIC: Word X Word Block Party @ Palace Park, Pittsfield. As part of the Word X Word fest, Bella’s Bartok, Rusty Belle and Bell Engine and others gather for a five-hour celebration in the park. 3pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Breathe Carolina @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. The Scream It Like You Mean It Tour rolls into town. In addition to the headliners, the show features Chiodos, I See Stars, the Color Morale, Mod Sun and the Air I Breathe. 5:45pm. $18.

MUSIC: Danny Gotham & Jon Shain @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Gotham – formerly of local favorites the Raquette River Rounders – teams up with acoustic bluesman Shain. With the Nashville duo Granville Automatic. 7pm. $16.

MUSIC: Captain Squeeze & the Zydeco Moshers @ Clifton Common, Clifton Park. Greg “Captain Squeeze” Speck fires up his accordion for an evening of Louisiana zydeco two-steps and bayou blues. Rain or shine. 7pm. FREE.
