What happens when you combine a symphony orchestra with a circus?
Lots of fun and daring-do, both musically and athletically, that’s what…
Cirque de la Symphonie wowed the crowd in Saratoga Springs when they joined the Philadelphia Orchestra on stage for a wild ‘n’ woolly performance last summer. (Read our review (and see the stunning photos) of the performance.)
Well, they’re doing it again this weekend at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center – twice! – presenting two different programs on Friday and Saturday evenings:
FRIDAY, AUGUST 5, 8pm
The Philadelphia Orchestra & Cirque de la Symphonie: “Magical Tales”
Stéphane Denève, conductor
SATURDAY, AUGUST 6, 8pm
The Philadelphia Orchestra & Cirque de la Symphonie: “Love and Romance”
Rossen Milanov, conductor
Reserved amphitheater seats are currently on sale for $31, $41.50, $49.50, $65.50 and $72.50; general admission lawn tix are $20. And kids 12 and under are admitted free on the lawn.
BUT WAIT A MINUTE… We’ve got a pair of FREE LAWN TICKETS to give away to Saturday night’s performance to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winners will be selected at random and notified on Friday morning. Good luck! Congratulations to Ss Piorkowski!
