Yeah, we know, right now everybody’s going ga-ga for Gosling.
But last summer, the movie cameras were rolling at a number of locations in and around Saratoga Springs, and you can see the results on Wednesday evening when the indie comedy “Virgin Alexander” has its area premiere at the Spectrum 8 Theatres in Albany.
“When tickets went on sale, they sold out in three days,” explains Saratoga hometown filmmaker Sean Fallon, “so we’ve had to add another screening.”
Yes, Wednesday’s 6:30pm screening is all sold out, but there are still tix left for the newly added 9pm screening. Fallon and his co-writer and co-director Charlotte Barrett will be on hand for a Q&A session following both screenings.
The film is an off-beat comedy starring Paige Howard (“Adventureland”), Mika Boorem (“The Patriot,” “Dawson’s Creek”) and Bronson Pinchot (Balki from “Perfect Strangers”).
“We have just started screening the film around the country, and the response has been great,” says Fallon. “We won Best Feature Film at the Las Vegas Film Festival. We also won the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Award for Best Film at the DC Independent Film Festival, as well as the Best Feature Film at the Black Hills Film Festival.”
Priced at $9.25, advance tix are available online.
