Be Here Now: Berkshire Summer Stages 2011 [Berkshire On Stage]

Live Performance Preview

Summer has arrived, and this culture hound’s nose has been busy sniffing out the best of the coming summer’s attractions. If you see something that intrigues, don’t hesitate since many Berkshire shows sell out. The early subscriber and ticket buyer gets the best dates, the best seats and often the best price.

The 2011 announcements began arriving before 2010 was even finished, and we have gathered them all together on our home page for your convenience, with late breaking reports following the season schedules.

Visitors to the Berkshires have always had to choose among the overwhelming number of music, theatre and dance events taking place from May to October. At the height of the summer some two dozen stages are in use in this relatively small area, and even long time residents have trouble keeping up. Everyone has their favorites, and while some residents stick to their immediate environs, others are seen flying up and down Route 7 in a sometimes futile attempt to keep up with everything.
