“The first record album I ever bought? Personally? Now you mean album, right, not single? That would be ‘Sgt. Pepper.’ I remember my father bought it for me, and it cost $6. He couldn’t believe how expensive it was.

But wait a minute … I already had ‘Meet the Beatles.’ So actually, the first album I bought might have been ‘Meet the Beatles.’

Either way, that’s really where my roots are.”

Kasim Sulton – who has worked with Utopia, Meat Loaf, Joan Jett, the New Cars and others, in addition to his solo work – will strap on his bass for “An Evening with Todd Rundgren” at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8pm on Thursday. Joining Rundgren and Sulton in the spotlight will be drummer Prairie Prince, guitarist Jesse Gress and keyboardist John Ferenzik. General admission tix to the concert are $40.
