M. Ward Heads to MASS MoCA

He’s one-quarter of Monsters of Folk with My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis.

He’s one-half of She & Him with Zooey Deschanel.

And he’s also one-half of the blogging team that hosts The Creme Bru-Log: The Online Source for Critique and Tastings of Creme Brulee From Around the World, with Jim James.

But the singer-songwriter will simply be M. Ward when he rolls into MASS MoCA in North Adams in support of his latest album, “Hold Time.” The new concert that’s just been added to the sprawling museum’s summer concert calendar is slated for 8pm on Friday, August 12 (although MASS MoCA’s website mistakenly lists the concert for August 13).

Priced at $25 in advance, tix for M. Ward at MASS MoCA are slated to go on sale on Wednesday.

m ward is a badass. we should all be thankful he was plucked from obscurity.

although it would be nice if he played a show in albany since certain outstanding warrants make attending shows in Mass a bit dicey for some people.

too bad there is no half decent music venue in albany. Unless you count Mayor Jennings’ beer fest and his apparent fondness for one hit wonders like Vertical Horizon. Yeah, that rocks.

and this is a better intro to M for newcomers
