Win FREE TIX to Elizabeth Cook @ The Linda

“Hear what the buzz is all about,” declared Fred Rudofsky here at when he reviewed Elizabeth Cook’s concert at The Linda last November. “Cook is the real deal.”

Yes, she’s a stone-cold country music queen who sings like a cross between Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, and yet she can also gracefully drop a Velvet Underground cover into her show.

Well, Cook is headed back to The Linda in Albany on Wednesday night, and the buzz surrounding her talent has grown even louder in recent weeks. When the Americana Music Association’s award nominees were announced last month, there’s was Cook leading the charge with coveted nominations in all three top categories – Song of the Year (“El Camino”), Album of the Year (“Welder”) and Artist of the Year, as well. The only other artist to garner as many nominations was a guy named Robert Plant. Now that’s pretty heavy company…

Elizabeth Cook returns to The Linda in Albany for another crackling alt-country concert at 8pm on Wednesday. Tix are $17.

Oooooh… What’s this? A FREE pair of tickets? That’s right, we’re giving away FREE TIX to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winners will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday. Good luck! Congratulations, Beth!
