Club Helsinki in Hudson welcomes one of the all-time great guitarslingers, Sonny Landreth, at 9pm on Friday, July 8. Tix are $25. Also, newly announced for Helsinki are Grupo Fantasma on Thursday, July 14 ($TBA) and Zach Deputy (fresh from Mountain Jam) at 9pm on Saturday, August 13 ($15).

Yuk it up: Comedy is comin’ our way at 8pm on Saturday, October 8 when Wanda Sykes steps into the spotlight to do her stand-up thing at the Palace Theatre in Albany. Priced at $20, $36, $65 and $85, tix go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday.

Also on the laugh front, watermelon-smashing comedian Gallagher will be rolling into the Metro in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, June 25. You have been warned…

Flashback: With more than a half dozen Top 40 hits to their credit – including “Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel” and “It Only Takes a Minute” – ’70s pop-R&B stars Tavares will be riding into Siro’s in Saratoga Springs to serve up a post-track concert on Saturday, July 30. Making it even more fun, the reunited Emerald City opens the show.

Update: As we told you last week, Blink 182 co-headlines the Honda Civic Tour with My Chemical Romance in what will likely be the final show of the season at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Matt & Kim open the show. Here’s the new info: Priced at $35, $55 and $69 for amphitheater seats and $25 for lawn admission, tix go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday.

In case you missed it: Here we come… yes, the Monkees’ 45th anniversary tour is slated to make its way into the Times Union Center in Albany, but only Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork are aboard. What? No Wool Hat? Tix go on sale on Saturday.

In case you missed it, Part II: Four new shows were announced for the fall concert calendar at The Egg in Albany – George Thorogood & the Destroyers, Madeleine Peyroux with Nellie McKay, David Sanborn with Joey DeFrancesco and Shawn Colvin. Tix go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 17.

In case you missed it, Part III: Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne is slated to return to the Palace Theatre in Albany in October – this time for a solo acoustic performance. Tix go on sale on Friday.
