6/7/11: Today’s Tips: Tuesday

CANCELLED: Jonny – the psychedelic pop fusion of Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake and Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci’s Euros Childs – was slated to play at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton at 7pm tonight, but unfortunately, the band has been forced to cancel their entire U.S. tour.

MUSIC: Keith Pray’s Big Soul Ensemble @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. Powerhouse big band music for the 21st century in an intimate setting. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Ani DiFranco @ the Oneonta Theater, Oneonta. The prolific self-described Little Folksinger and Righteous Babe has uncorked 20 uncomprising, stridently DIY albums in the past two decades, and she’s not slowing down. With Seth Glier. 9pm. $40 in advance; $45 at the door.

THEATER: “Zero Hour” @ Barrington Stage Co.’s Stage 2, Pittsfield. If you still haven’t caught Jim Brochu’s tour de force one-man turn as Zero Mostel, you’ve got a few more chances. Due to popular demand, the show has been extended through Friday. 7:30pm. $30.

MUSIC: Saves the Day @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. The emo pop-punk pioneers romp into town offering a sneak peek at their upcoming album, “Living Without Love,” due for release in September. Co-headlining will be the Get-Up Kids. 7:30pm. $18.50 in advance; $21 at the door.

MUSIC: The Tri-County Banjo Band @ Schodack Town Park, Schodack. Banjos, banjos and more banjos! 6pm. FREE.
