BALLAD & BEER: Chris Shaw & Bridget Ball @ Brown’s Brewing Company, Troy. In conjunction with the unveiling of a new brew – Brown’s Belgian Blonde Ale – the husband-and-wife-folk duo perform “The Ballad of Bolton’s Ending,” a tragic tale of the mysterious death (was it suicide or murder?) of brewer Samuel Bolton, Jr. – in his own brew vat. 6pm.

PARTICIPATORY MUSIC: Ukulele Night @ the Moon & River Cafe, Schenectady. Uke veteran Ron Gordon leads the festivities. Bring yer uke and join in. Or just sit and listen. 7pm. FREE.

STORYTELLING: Margaret French @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. It’s a storytelling open mic with featured storyteller. 7pm. $3.
